Our mission.

We edit and publish material that promotes the creativity, diversity, and wisdom of people across time and space. In so doing we mentor and support writers and critical thinkers as they develop their ideas, clarify their message, and ground their literary work in investigative research.

As academics, we are aware of the power of words in ushering forth innovative ways of thinking and existing in the world. We honor our pedagogical tradition by leaning on the lessons of history and by drawing from deep knowledge systems to envision and articulate a future that endorses sustainability, self-determination, and self-reflection.

We are committed to fostering inclusion, equitable representation, and fair pay.

In keeping with our stated mission, we acknowledge that we stand on the traditional land of the Multnomah, Wasco, Kathlamet, Cowlitz, Clackamas, Bands of Chinook, Tualatin Kalapuya, Molalla, and other autochthonous groups of the Columbia River.
